Home to the Ozark Mountains and culturally rich cities, Missouri offers a long list of attractions. While there are plenty of things to see and do in Kansas City and St. Louis, other sights and cities in Missouri offer even more to explore. Branson calls itself the "Live country music capital of the universe." It draws millions of tourists, mainly country music fans, and is a good base for excursions into the Ozark Mountains. Stay at one of the Motel 6 locations. Silver Dollar City in Branson combines a significant theme park with crafts and the preservation of 1880s Ozark culture. Artisans in the park demonstrate various tasks from the turn of the century. The park has rides, attractions, shops, restaurants, and live shows. St. Louis is home to The Gateway Arch, an iconic structure that visually defines the city. Visitors can take a tram up to a viewing platform at the top, which reaches 630 feet, for stunning views over the city. But, of course, one of the best free things to do in Missouri is visit the St. Louis Zoo. You won't lack furry creatures to see, and there are over 14,000 animals from all over the world. The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art is Kansas City's most significant cultural attraction. It's filled with a comprehensive collection of pieces from around the world. Be sure to appreciate the sculpture garden as you enter the grounds, something everyone can appreciate without entering the building. Admission is always free to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. In Independence, the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum covers Truman's career and US history from 1945 to 1953. A replica of Truman's office in the White House is displayed. Created by an enclosure of the Osage River in 1931, Lake of the Ozarks is one of the most famous lake destinations in the Midwest. Favorite reasons to visit include professionally designed golf courses and scenic lakefront with an array of water activities, including boating, fishing, and swimming at sandy beaches. To see the marvel of engineering that created the Lake of the Ozarks, a drive over the Bagnell Dam is recommended. Be sure to visit the beauty of Missouri and book your stay at one of the many Motel 6 locations.
